Fall is here and that means it is time to do all the cliche fall things like apple picking! Apple picking is so basic fall but after you leave the orchard with your perfect selfies you are left with a big task...what the heck do you do with all of these gorgeous fresh apples. Well if you are like me that means it is time to hit the kitchen and try out some new apple recipes which is exactly what happened in this case. My first apple recipe is Apple Pie Bites. I am not a big pie person but pies and fall just go together so why not use some apples to create a tasty handheld version of the treat. This recipe is very easy and great for sharing so if you are hosting a fall event or even just making a meal for friends & family these are sure to keep everyone happy. Now I just need to figure out what's next........

I think the title of this post says it all, this is a carrot apple ginger smoothie. I tried the cold pressed juice form of this mixture at Native Cold Pressed in Columbus, OH so I decided to see how it would be as a smoothie. I am pleased to tell you that it is still just as tasty!
Ingredients:
Chop everything up and throw it in the blender until smooth. If you have consistency issues please note this one has some texture because of the carrots. Bottoms up! I've got another smoothie recipe for everyone and this one is fruit only because while everyone is going green sometimes you just need to show some love to the wonderful fruit that is available during the summer. Ingredients:
Chop everything up and throw it in the blender until smooth! You can squeeze in a little lemon juice for kick if you would like. It gives it just a little zing! Smoothies and green juice are very popular right now and the best part of the trend is that you can completely make it your own. I think the only real rule of smoothie making is to make sure you put as many of your favorite fruits and veggies together and hope that it tastes fantastic. In this case of this kitchen experiment, it tastes fantastic. This smoothie includes blackberries, apples, cherries, and spinach. Each of these fruits and veggies have their own health benefits, some of which can be found here: Blackberries Apples Cherries Spinach Now I'll walk you through how I made this delightful (and easy) breakfast drink. Ingredients: 1 handful of Blackberries (about 10-12) 1 small Apple, diced 1 handful of Cherries (about 10-12), sliced in half with pit removed 1 handful of Spinach 1/2 cup of Vanilla Almond Milk Directions:
Throw everything into the blender (add the milk last to avoid splashing) and blend until you get your desired consistency. Enjoy! Note: I reused a bottle from Native Cold Pressed. Their juices are awesome and I definitely suggest trying if you are in the Columbus, Ohio area. They are located in the Short North on High Street. You can bring in your old bottles for a discount or you can reuse them for many purposes (they are glass). |
